WP Consent API Plugin

The Beautiful Cookie Banner plugin now supports the WP Consent API plugin.

To use this feature, you’ll need to have the WP Consent API plugin installed. However, it’s only necessary if you are using one of the plugins listed as “Consent Requiring Plugins” on the WP Consent API plugin page.

It is not a requirement to use the WP Consent API plugin.

For a detailed explanation of what the WP Consent API does and how to use it, please refer to the official plugin page.

Important: If you have installed the WP Consent API plugin, make sure to complete the mapping. Without it, some features of supporting plugins may not work as expected.

Consent Categories of WP Consent API

In the WordPress Consent API settings screen of the Beautiful Cookie Banner, you can map the categories defined by the WP Consent API plugin to the ones you’ve set up in the cookie banner.

Example

1. You map “Cookie Banner Category” “Functionality” to “WP Consent Plugin API” “Marketing”

2. Now, when a user consents to “Functionality” in the Beautiful Cookie Banner the WP Consent Plugin API gets notified, that the user has opted in to “Marketing”, as “Functionality” was mapped to “Marketing”.

To determine the appropriate category mappings, please consult the documentation of the “Consent Requiring Plugins” you’re using. These plugins rely on the cookie settings to adjust their behavior accordingly.
